We're locked and loaded for a new episode. Thanks to every who submitted an entry and I hope you enjoy it.
Unfortunately almost 1 full minute worth of content had to be excluded from the YouTube upload due to copyright restrictions, so I highly recommend you download the episode, or view it on Vimeo.
For info on our upcoming third episode, please read the bottom of this post.

Episode 3
We're now open for submissions to episode 3, with a small twist. Episode 3 will be a special episode where explicit lyrics will be allowed and will not need to be censored.
That said, it's not a requirement to use explicit lyrics in your entry, just a special allowance for this episode only. Standard entries will also be accepted into this new episode.
Hope to see some great stuff soon.

After receiving over 40 entries from more then a dozen different editors, we've finally reached the point of releasing the first AMV Hellspawn episode to you.
Thank you to everyone who submitted entries. I'm hoping we get to see some more great stuff from you in the next episode as well, which is officially open for entries now.

Due to copyright restrictions on YouTube there may be times where a video is excluded from the YouTube upload, but still available via Vimeo and the downloadable versions.
This is so the whole episode wont be unviewable because of a single entry. There was one such instance this episode. Videos which have been removed from the YouTube upload will be noted below.

If you have an account on "amvhellspawn.com", you can download this episode as an attachment or from "animemusicvideos.org".
Each episode will also be available to stream from YouTube and Vimeo.

Without further ado...

AMV Hellspawn - Now Open For Submissions
Posted by: LawRayLiet - 08-14-2015, 10:56 PM - Forum: News - Replies (16)

Reading through the The Future of AMV Hell, it's obvious many of us weren't ready for things to end.
Zarx may be retiring, but the community with all it's editors doesn't have to. AMV Hellspawn aims to be a new nexus point for us all.
I'm looking forward to seeing who all will be a part of the first episode of many.

Read over the AMV Hellspawn Submission Guidelines on how to submit your video: http://amvhellspawn.com/showthread.php?tid=5

AMV Hellspawn Submission Guidelines

Current Judges: LawRayLiet, SilentChaz, MADEVIL

Project Technical Details
Resolution: 1280x720
FPS: 23.976
Codec: MP4

Video Entries Should Be:

1. Funny
The genre is comedy. Your video should be funny, or humorous in one way or another.
Try to be original. Avoid using ideas which have already been done, unless you're doing it MUCH better then the original, or putting a really unique and different spin on it.

2. 30sec or Less
This is not a hard limit, but it's a rare case where a video warrants it's length beyond 30 seconds. That being said, the majority of accepted entries will be 30sec or less.
Videos longer then 30sec may be accepted on a case by case basis, but it'll be subject to a much higher scrutiny for acceptance. If it's good, but drags on, you may be asked to shorten it.

3. High Quality
Take the time to obtain a high quality source material for your video. Don't settle for subpar video or audio quality just because it's convenient.
Do not upscale your videos resolution or change the FPS. Make sure your input matches the output. Keep your audio quality as high as possible.
Your video should not contain subtitles or watermarks that weren't placed there by you, or which are not necessary to the joke.
Unobtrusive watermarks may be accepted if no other viable option is available, for example with a show that is currently airing.

4. PG-13
Regarding expletives, violence and sexual content, your video should be similar to PG-13 content.
For example, revealing clothing, panty shots and the typical anime sexual content is fine, while explicit nudity is not.
Although allowed within a certain measure, you should try and avoid excessive violence and strong language.

5. Primarily Japanese Animation
It's not an AMV without anime. Your video may incorporate other sources which are not anime, but that shouldn't be the focus.

6. Can I submit content which has appeared in other compilations, or which have otherwise been publicly available?
As long as it hasn't appeared in an already popular compilation, or otherwise reached a significant point in popularity, then it's fine.

Submission Process
Acceptable Formats: MP4, AVI, MKV
Ideal Output Specs: 1280x720 /  23.976fps
